Exam #4 part 1 Spanish Civil War

  • The definition for propaganda is.. ideas or rumors deliberately spread to help or harm a person group or movement. This differs from art because a picture is showing the opinion of the artist and what he or she thinks. propaganda is deliberately trying to corrupt the other side where the artist is just expressing their feeling of the situation.
  • Picasso's painting of Guernica is art. I say this because this is what Picasso saw in the bombing, we don't know what ever one else thought because we can't talk to them. Picasso's painting is abstract, it has people running and laying down, it also has people morning for help.
  • Germany bombed Guernica because Germany wanted to see how much it would take to be able to bomb a city. Hitler did a pretty good job of for what he was looking to do he killed many many people in taking this action.
